Bearing Cage Type

Bearing cage refers to a bearing part that partially wraps all or part of the rolling body and moves with it to isolate the rolling body, and usually also plays the role of guiding the rolling body and keeping it in the bearing.
There are three main functions of the bearing cage.
1. Keep an appropriate distance between the rolling elements to reduce the friction torque of the bearing and the heat generated by friction.
2. Evenly distribute the rolling elements to optimize load distribution and reduce noise.
3. Guide the rolling elements in the no-load zone to improve rolling conditions and prevent damaging sliding.
The main types of bearing cages are: stamping cages, solid cages and pillar cages.

The advantage of stamped cages is that they are light in weight and have a large interior space for easy entry of lubricants

The solid cage is usually allowed to have a higher speed. When the bearing has other forms of motion besides rotation at the same time, especially in the case of high speed, the machined metal cage should also be used.

The pillar cage uses pins to pass through the rollers with perforations, and fix both ends of the pins to the washers. This cage is lighter and can accommodate more rollers and is only used in oversized roller bearings.
