Bearings used on yo-yos - KK bearings

The yo-yo is the second oldest toy after the doll, and is loved by children all over the world.

According to their different structures, yo-yos can be divided into three types: integral type, bearing type, and clutch type. Different types of yo-yos have different performances and are suitable for various playing methods.

We mainly introduce the bearing type yo-yo

The bearing of the bearing type yo-yo is the key to playing the yo-yo. The bearings are divided into wooden bearings, nylon bearings and ball bearings.

Compared with wooden bearings and nylon bearings, ball bearings can have a longer idling time. The secret is that there are many small steel balls that can roll flexibly and fit together with small gaps between the inner and outer shafts. Rolling allows the inner and outer bearings to rotate smoothly, effectively reducing frictional resistance.

The yo-yo bearings can be divided into: ordinary yo-yo, special yo-yo bearings, special enhanced yo-yo bearings

Ordinary yo-yo ball bearings mostly use deep groove ball bearings made of bearing steel. The bearings are miniature bearings with an inner diameter ranging from 3mm to 6mm. This kind of bearing has high speed, most of them are open type, and some are sealed type.

Special-made yo-yo ball bearings are non-standard inch bearings. The outer circle is U-shaped, also known as KK bearings. The best advantage of this type of bearing is that the U-shaped groove is designed to meet the characteristics of the yo-yo, making the yo-yo rotate smoothly.

The special enhanced version of the yo-yo ball bearing, also known as the high-precision KK bearing, as the name implies, is a KK bearing with relatively high precision. The precision and material are the main factors affecting the performance of the bearing, which directly determine the price of the bearing, and the idling time is naturally longer than other bearings. The biggest advantage of this special bearing is that when playing with the ball, the rope will be placed in the center of the bearing as much as possible, reducing the friction between the rope and the ball wall.

Installation of yo-yo ball bearings:

1. Unscrew the yo-yo, pass the bearing through the middle, and then screw the other half of the yo-yo until it stops. Note: Never over-rotate.

2. Please apply a small amount of Yoyo grease and Yoyo maintenance oil on the side of the shaft and bearing.

Please note: If you apply too much, it will stick to the rope and affect the play.
