Xi Jinping stressed at the private enterprise symposium that the private economy has broad prospects for development and great potential, and it is time for private enterprises and private entrepreneurs to show their talents

■ The basic principles and policies of the Party and the State on the development of the private economy have been incorporated into the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. They will be consistently adhered to and implemented. They cannot and will not change. The new era and new journey have broad prospects for the development of the private economy and great potential. It is time for private enterprises and private entrepreneurs to show their talents. We must unify our thinking, strengthen our confidence, and promote the healthy and high-quality development of the private economy. We hope that private enterprises and private entrepreneurs will have the ambition to serve the country, seek development, abide by the law and operate well, and promote common prosperity first, so as to make new and greater contributions to promoting Chinese-style modernization
■ Private enterprises have flourished along with the great process of reform and opening up. For decades, our party's theory and practice have been consistent and keep pace with the times in terms of the understanding of the status and role of the private economy in the cause of reform and opening up and socialist modernization, and the principles and policies of the Party and the State on the development of the private economy. The Party and the State adhere to and improve the socialist basic economic system, unswervingly consolidate and develop the public economy, and unswervingly encourage, support and guide the development of the non-public economy; the Party and the State ensure that all kinds of ownership economies use production factors equally in accordance with the law, participate in market competition fairly, and are equally protected by law, promote the complementary advantages and common development of various ownership economies, and promote the healthy development of the non-public economy and the healthy growth of non-public economic personnel
■ Solidly implementing policies and measures to promote the development of the private economy is the current focus of promoting the development of the private economy. All that the Party Central Committee has decided must be resolutely implemented without compromise. We must resolutely break down various obstacles to the equal use of production factors and fair participation in market competition in accordance with the law, continue to promote the fair opening of competitive infrastructure fields to various business entities, and continue to make great efforts to solve the problem of difficulty and high cost of financing for private enterprises. We must focus on solving the problem of arrears of accounts for private enterprises. We must strengthen law enforcement supervision, focus on rectifying random charges, fines, inspections, and seizures, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of private enterprises and private entrepreneurs in accordance with the law. At the same time, we must realize that my country is a socialist country under the rule of law, and the illegal acts of enterprises of all kinds of ownership cannot be evaded. We must earnestly implement various relief policies, improve the accuracy of policies, focus on comprehensive measures, and treat enterprises equally. We must further build a close and clean relationship between government and business. Party committees and governments at all levels must base themselves on reality and coordinate the implementation of policies and measures to promote the development of the private economy. ■ Enterprises are the main business entities, and the endogenous driving force for enterprise development is the first priority. The majority of private enterprises and private entrepreneurs should be full of passion for entrepreneurship and serving the country, constantly improve their ideals, cultivate their patriotism, think of their roots and make progress, promote the entrepreneurial spirit, concentrate on strengthening, optimizing and expanding enterprises, and firmly become builders of socialism with Chinese characteristics and promoters of Chinese-style modernization. We must unswervingly follow the path of high-quality development, stick to our main business, strengthen industry, strengthen independent innovation, change our development methods, and continuously improve the quality, efficiency and core competitiveness of enterprises, and strive to promote scientific and technological innovation, cultivate new quality productivity, build a modern industrial system, comprehensively promote rural revitalization, promote regional coordinated development, and ensure and improve people's livelihood. We must improve the corporate governance structure in accordance with the requirements of the modern enterprise system with Chinese characteristics, standardize shareholder behavior, strengthen internal supervision, improve risk prevention mechanisms, continuously improve the use, management and protection mechanisms of production factors such as labor, talent, knowledge, technology, capital, and data, and attach importance to the training of enterprise successors. We must adhere to honest and law-abiding operations, establish correct values and morals, and promote the healthy development of the private economy with practical actions. We must actively fulfill our social responsibilities, actively build harmonious labor relations, do a good job in ecological environmental protection, participate in public welfare and charity to the best of our ability, and contribute more love to the society.
Beijing, February 17 (Xinhua) Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the State, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, attended a symposium on private enterprises in Beijing on the morning of the 17th and delivered an important speech. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over the symposium.
At the symposium, six representatives of private enterprise leaders, including Ren Zhengfei, CEO of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Wang Chuanfu, Chairman of BYD Co., Ltd., Liu Yonghao, Chairman of New Hope Holdings Group Co., Ltd., Yu Renrong, Chairman of Shanghai Will Semiconductor Co., Ltd., Wang Xingxing, CEO of Hangzhou Yushu Technology Co., Ltd., and Lei Jun, Chairman of Xiaomi Technology Co., Ltd., spoke successively and put forward opinions and suggestions on promoting the development of the private economy under the new situation.

The socialist system with Chinese characteristics has many significant advantages. The socialist market economic system and the socialist legal system with Chinese characteristics are constantly improving and perfecting, which will provide a stronger guarantee for the development of the private economy.
Xi Jinping emphasized that some of the difficulties and challenges currently facing the development of the private economy have generally emerged in the process of reform and development and industrial transformation and upgrading. They are local rather than overall, temporary rather than long-term, and can be overcome rather than unsolvable.
